My Cabrio platinum WTW8800YC0 top load washer lid will not stay open on its own. It's only 4 years old and both hinges/springs are broke.

    We have the same one and ours just broke again, for the third time!!

    Yeah,  our lid won't stay open either,  and it's only 2  years old. Wont buy another Samsung washer or dryer, now wont buy another Whirlpool either!

    This happened to my Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine only after a few months!  It's been like that for a couple years.  So annoying.

    Does anyone have a simple fix for this OTHER than buying a $200 replacement lid?

    Mine won't either! I'm so frustrated. My repairman suggested a "laundry helmet..." haha!

    Same thing with my Cabrio washer- a design defect for sure!
