We have been getting almost daily calls for about a year from an unknown caller (name and number).  I let the machine answer it because as soon as the greeting is done, the unknown caller leaves a busy signal message and then hangs up.  If we answer the call, we are treated to the same busy signal.  I have even *69 the call and received the same busy signal.  This annoying to say the least.  Sometimes, we have been called by this number a few times in a given day.  I am sure it is a computer somewhere doing this and I don't have any way to make this stop.  We are on the Do Not Call List but obviously this annoying busy signal does not care.

    Get one of the boxes you can insert in your phone line to block autodialed calls, to reduce the harassment.

    We have been getting them at my house 3 times a day or more since we got caller ID not long ago. It's getting annoying. I answered one time and it was dead silent, then I hung out. They (or it) doesn't leave voicemail or anything. I'm getting sick and tired of it too.

    Thanks!  We did that and it seemed to help for a while.  We are back to receiving calls 3X a day again....Really thought it was an automated call but now I am not so sure.  It should have been zapped and stayed zapped.
