Charging ME to fix their equipment

I do not how companies can require their customers to pay for their COMPANY's equipment issues. We have 5 boxes in our home...one of which is an HD box (of course that one has no problems but we are also being charge $10 for box rental each month). We have not been able to use the other boxes for several months, constantly getting the "searching for satellite signal"....not till I call, do I get the "oh you can put those one vacation mode"....really? So let's see....$6 a box times 4 =$24 a month, $24 a month X the 5 months they have not worked = $120!!!!!!!!!!! After I have called to get them fixed, now you say I can do that??? And to top it off, we go through THE EXACT SAME TROUBLE SHOOTING PROCEDURES that are found on DIRECT TV'S WEBSITE...unhooking the same cable, over and over! Do they really think that just because they are on the phone with me that it will work for them! I have already done this multiple times! Then the tech so nicely says "oh okay now we can send a tech out for a charge of $49.95"...I absolutely lost it! Really?! You charge me for YOUR EQUIPMENT ISSUES! Saying how I need to invest in your service package. NO!!! You should stand by your equipment. You charge ungodly prices for something you should stand by. I did nothing to your equipment to make it stop working - it's your awful services! But you ca guarantee that I haven't had issues with my HD box - probably because you want all my boxes to be HD so you can get your $10 a box instead of $6. What a pathetic company!!!!!!!
