Shredding and ripping clothes

I am so disgusted with my  Whirlpool Duet washing machine! After putting up with rips and tears in my clothes for over a year, today I finally had it when it detroyed a shirt that I absolutely loved.  I know the tub is also leaking. I have always followed the operating manual guidelines, not abused it, and only have a 2-person household. I've looked on-line and know that others have the same issue with this model washer. This really ticks me off!
