I bought what I believe to be a Whirlpool Duet washer.  It turned out to be a clothes shredder.  Took me some time to relate it to the washer but as time went by it got worse.  I bought this from Conn's and have been complaining and met with nothing but rudeness.  Went to Whirlpool and they just say it is out of warranty.  It is now one and a half years old and can not be repaired.  It was defective from day one and missing the inside piece.  Guess I realize why the sta;; tactics!  I have had to rent a washer while I deal with this as I can not be without any longer.  So now I guess my only option is to file suit as they expect me to keep making payments and don't even consider all my clothes it has ruined.  I ask if I could trade it in, exchange it but they will do absoletly nothing.

    Hi Nancy,
I also have a Whirlpool Duet washer/shredder.  It's an absolute nightmare.  Whirlpool has also been unhelpful to me.  They can send someone out at my cost.  There's no way I am going to throw good money after bad especially after all the clothes it has ruined.  My washer is 2 years old and has been "repaired" 3 times!  I asked for my money back as well and nothing.  I thold them I will not go away with that answer.  Supposedly someone from "corporate" is going to call me on Monday.  Whirlpool is complete and utter crap!

I have a less than two year old Whirlpool Duet washer and it has just begun shredding my clothes.  After having to replace my 14 month old Whirlpool dishwasher with no help or sympathy from Whirlpool (they were hands down the rudest customer service dept I had ever dealt with), I am not going to even call them about the washer.  The repairman told me today that he would recommend replacing the machine as the cost of replacing the drum was so high. I will never, ever purchase ANYTHING Whirlpool again!
