I placed my order with HomeTownCandy.com in June. My card was charged the same day and I was expecting to receive the shipment within a week or so. After two weeks of waiting I started calling them. No one ever answers when I call. When you call they ask to leave a message because they are serving other customers. They never returned my calls.

I sent them a cancellation request because apparently if my order cancellation is not preceded by a cancellation request email I will be assessed an administrative fee of $25!

I've filed a complaint with my credit card company, and also filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission, and will file a BBB complaint (there already are numerous unresolved BBB complaints against them).

I will receive my money back from my credit card bank because I am still within 30 days of my purchase but I want to warn everyone about HomeTownCandy.com and their practices.

The exact same situation happened with me.  I ordered from them on June 24th, money was instantly taken out of my credit card, and I received a USPS tracking number.  However, nothing has been shipped!  I have done all of the above (turned them into the BBB, the FTC and my credit card company)and hope that everyone else who gets scammed from hometowncandy.com does the same.  One additional thing I did was report them to their Internet Service provider, www.godaddy.com by clicking on the "Report Spam" link, filling out the form and selecting "Miscellaneous" under Type of Abuse.  I suggest that everyone who gets scammed by this "company" does the same.

I wish I would have known about this site before I ordered from
Hometowncandy.com. Just like all the other complaints, I placed an order on July 6, 2007 and never received my order that I paid 3 day shipping for. [***]!
