Send Macy's the doctors bill for the pain and suffering caused by their product.  The mattress warranty has no application for the damage it caused. That approach should get their attention.  By the way, if you purchased a mattress from Macys on sale, the chance is that it was sold to someone else and returned within the first few days.  When it is returned, they make a restocking charge of $75.00 and charge $80.00 for delivery. That means that the replacement costs for the on sale mattress usually costs more than a brand new mattress.  I believe that pays for the repackaging of the product.  That way when you receive it, it is still wrapped and appears to be brand new.  I also found that the mattress came with a stain.  I was told that if I returned it, it would cost me more for the on sale item that I purchased than a new mattress purchased at full price. The mattress seemed ok, but within a few months, failed completely.  When the person came to the house to examine it, I was told that the mattress should be replace, but because of the stain, the warranty was voided.  Now, ask yourself this question, "what does the stain have to do with the faulty construction of the mattress?"

Macys was at one time was an honored reputable department store.  Now they are in financial trouble and clearly fighting to stay alive.  I suspect that the online retailers will bring onMacy's demise.  And good riddance...
