I'm glad I looked this up to see if it was a scam. I checked our voicemail to find a message from this Jordan Smith character. Had a very accent, similar to middle East or Indian, telling my husband that legal action has been started against his name and that my husband needed to call back or get an attorney. The number given to us was 818-666-1763. I don't think I'll be calling the number back. If they happen to call back and I answer the phone, I'll be requesting the complaint be sent on paper in the mail before I consider it legitimate.

    I'm glad you posted this. Same story as us.  New name... "Jack Lewis" with a middle east or Indian accent. His call back number was: 818-666-1763.

    I got a call from them too. Checked the phone number. He said it is from LA but the phone listed as a landline in Miller St. in Van Nuys. It is a MagicJack line serviced by YMAX. When asked what is this about? He got confused and kept talking nonsense,  and when I said I need paper document, he continued with the same line and asked me if I am an educated person. Although they used names as Amy Taylor, or Mike Lee, their accent is Indian or Bangladeshi. I assume somebody gathered a bunch of illegal aliens in a house, most probably abusing them, and forcing them to call people. I have reported the incident to Treasury Dept. and assume they will take some actions against these [***]. If someone is not informed of these scams, the way these criminal threaten, he/she might get hurt attack. I think federal government needs to go after these people and arrest, prosecute,  and send them to jail for a long time.

    I just received the same message from 209-565-6486, Jordan Smith from the US Treasury Department of Legal Affairs, he told me to call back as soon as possible with an attorney and if I don't I will create a legal mess for myself. With his inflection and middle eastern accent this is absolutely a scam. Thank you guys for posting and confirming what I had suspected.

    My 5 cents... This evening I got a call form the same number 209-565-6486, this time his name was "Danny Morisson" but the rest are the same: US Treasures, some scary case, request of my attorney, bla-bla-bla. I had real fun listening this Indian jerk, but when he tell me that I'm going to be arrested in one hour, I was started laughing and he drops a call. Probably will call him again tomorrow, he is really stupid and looks like he are reading some script.

    Same here, Jordan Smith.  Caller ID showed 213-928-2637 but he stated on the phone in muffled English 213-928-0637

    I got 2 messages.  One from Alhambra California and one from LA.  Two different stories but urgent messages that I would go to jail.

    Same as above, Jordan Smith Dept. of Legal Affairs, Treasury Dept. Said to have attorney call back.  Call back # 323-744-6485.  Accent was Indian, I think?

      They just called me today had me worried called from 323 744 6485  said name was zack wilson
