I was with Directv for 12 years. In July 2011, I switched to Uverse, after having inordinate technical problems with Directv's service. They offered me $55 a month to come back, and said they'd fix the technical problem. I agreed. They mentioned I had to file a rebate. When I went to file the rebate I was told I couldn't do it until they contacted me, after the repair was completed. They never contacted me as agreed. When the bill arrived 2 months later, it was the old amount of $105 a month. I protested, they said the original rebate would not be honored, and to go online and find a new rebate. When I did, the computer informed me I was ineligble for any rebate. After several days and hours on the phone they agreed to return $50 of the overbilled amount, but it should have been more like $100. They would not honor the $55 rate that they offered to get me to come back. I canceled the service, after going over this with them 3 separate times. Then, they send me a bill for $150 and I can't speak with a live rep, to explain the discrepancy. A month goes by and they finally send UPS with boxes to pick up their boxes. Fine. Then they don't send any other invoice, but instead go into my Paypal account, and attempt to deduct $650 from my bank account. When I call to find out what's going on...they tell me, they're trying to collect a debt. For what, I ask. They say. "You broke your contract". I already contacted the FCC and FTC.Will contact the State Attorney General next. They're just mad because they're service is defunct..no one needs them anymore because we can get any tv show we want for free online with hulu.com and others. Why, they'll just have to take their losses like everyone else, now won't they? The SOB's.
