DiretBuy is a total sham

I wish I had googled DirectBuy before joining and avoided the hard sales pitch.  I am a pretty well educated person but I feel like a complete idiot.  We have been members for a year now and have found it to be completely useless and did not ask the right questions.  Maybe if you are doing a total home renovation with flooring and cabinets it might be worth it, but anything else, don't bother.  Every time we try to use DB we find it someplace else cheaper and better service.  For example, we needed a bedroom set, and sure the price looks great but by the time they add in the 8% handling fee, the manufacturers delivery fee, and then the DirectBuy delivery fee (yes, there are 3 separate charges, that discount all disappears.  Everything we have looked to buy over the past year, we have wound up buying elsewhere at cheaper all-in or equivalent costs, and by not using DirectBuy we didn't have to wait six months for something that we found elsewhere and received within weeks.  We have tried buying all types of furniture, mattresses, TV's, Sporting equipment, Gas Grills, Electronics, etc, all useless.  Don't fall for it like we did!! DirectBuy is basically a shipping and handling deliver business, that is where they make most of their income.  JD
