Customer Service

I am on disability and on a fixed income. I like many others out there am having trouble keeping my head above water. Well in August there was a mistake made and my house payment was paid twice,the mistake was mine. On August 8th I called Bank of America and was told if I sent a copy of my Bank statement showing the double payment it would be reversed in 8 to 12 hours. So I made a copy on line from my bank and faxed it to the number they gave me, attention to nobody specific because they said it was'nt necessary as it would go directly to payment reversals. I also faxed a letter explaining the situation along with a phone number so I could be contacted in case there was a problem because I needed this done quickley as I had other bills to pay with this money.I did this on the 8th of August,I called them a number of times leaving messages but recieved no phone call. Finally on the 4th of September I got ahold of them and after being transfered to three different people they tell me they didn't get the fax until the 23rd of August. They also said they sent me a letter on the 25th of August I still have'nt recieved but they say it might be because of the holiday and I should be seeing it in the mail. In the meantime I have all my bills past due with past due charges. Now I don't know about anyone else but if that's "CUSTOMER SERVICE" they should'nt be in business. I don't know what a person has to do to get some kind of service these days, I sent them the fax as they asked on the 8th,  where it was until the 23rd ? when they said they got it, I don't know. I gave them a phone number to call if there was a problem, they send a letter instead. I am on the verge of not being able to make my house payment anymore but Please if there is anyone out there looking to finance a home, find someone other than Bank Of America, a person does not need anymore grief than what is out there just making ends meet in todays world and believe it or not there are companies and Banks that have customer service, something Bank Of America apparently does'nt think it needs.
