I am getting 2-3  calls a day  from  people with accent asking to  speak to   the owner of the company. Then they want to verify   company information, address etc. Of course  it always some phony online agency that is not verifying anything, but merely  selling my info, or trying to sign me up for  something. Where does this  end?
I am  busy all day, I  have to  take every call, I wish I knew  legit calls  from these people.j

They are reported to be running a "business directory" scam, using deceptive telemarketing to reportedly fabricate "recorded authorizations" edited from their calls to "verify your information".  They then claim small businesses "agreed" to their charges.

Just tell them to stop calling, then hang up.  At best they will waste  your time.

If they threaten you and attempt to defraud you, file fraud complaints with FTC, your state Attorney General, and at www.ic3.gov

It's really best to hang up immediately and not engage in any conversation.  Don't stay on the line.  The best advice I can give is keep a log of the numbers and caller ID they are ' currently' using.  Sometimes they use several different ones to call you.  The FTC said they use a computer to generate their own numbers.  For example, they use numbers and names of businesses that are no longer in business.  Valley, Fabrics in MA is one of the names they are using with a number of 413-584-3227.  If you call the number it says it's out of order.

They have calling me daily wanting to update my company listings, I simply tell him that I don't have an account with them and he hangs up on me.
