I bought a Maytag Bravo washer dryer matching set in Nov 2010 from our local Sears in Pratt Ks. In a few weeks the repair man was out to look at my dryer because it would turn on but not dry. He got it open and to his shock it was missing 3 parts that were never even installed and a broken switch. He couldn't even believe it would turn on with the broken switch. The bill was like 300 but covered under warranty. So my washer I had noticed was producing still soiled clothing on a normal wash cycle. I started a new load on normal and waited for the actual wash cycle to begin after filling and paused the washer to look inside. The load of water was not even full enough to cover the top of the clothes, so I had to start washing regular loads on bulky and small loads on normal (maybe 5 items). Now 3 years later it has started to throw off balance all the time and made loud noises while on spin cycle and has now started a grinding noise that is teeth clinching and a load won't even finish when coming to the spin cycle leaving sopping wet clothes. We called and asked what parts are covered under 10 yr and basically not the motor and if you fix yourself then warranty is void. What's the help of a 10 yr warranty if you have to pay for parts and service. Might as well buy a different brand for another 3 years of use. I remember as a kid having the same washer and dryer for all my childhood and now in 10 yrs this is my 3 rd set. The last 2 sets were the calypso which I believe we're whirlpool. (1 set was purchased for my mom) Hers went out way before mine. I was told today not to buy samsung because parts are hard to get being assembled out of country, but they are cheaper and if we have to purchase a new set then that is the route we are going this time! Always read your reviews before making a purchase!
