DO NOT ORDER DISH THROUGH MAILINGS - IT WILL COST YOU A $49.99 SET-UP FEE THAT IF YOU GO THROUGH DISH ONLINE OR CALL THEM AT THEIR ACTUAL NUMBER YOU WON'T BE CHARGED!!!
I called a number on a flyer I rcvd in the mail that has all Dish logos & even the phone number is 1-888-731-DISH. It is deceiving - you are not actually calling Dish. You are calling a dish contractor. I called it to order Dish Network, thinking that is who I was talking to and was charged a $49.99 set up fee in addition to the first month's svc. When I set it up, I scheduled a month out for the install. I asked and was informed that if I cancelled before the service was set up I would be refunded in full. I opted to cancel prior to the installation and called the number. I again asked if everything would be refunded and was informed yes & told that I needed to cancel with Dish first, then call them back for the refund. I followed this process and called them back to initiate the cancellation on that end, but they did not have the info from DISH yet. Upon my 3rd call to them, I was informed the $49.99 was non-refundable. The person I was speaking to was a supervisor. I informed her I had been told on more than one occassion that it was & asked if the calls were recorded. I stated that I wanted the calls listened to & wanted to be refunded based on what I had been told more than once. She informed me that the person I spoke to had only been working there for two days. I argued that was not my problem & they still needed to honor what their staff stated. She refused. Even with proof that I was quoted it was refundable - very poor service & a rip-off.
