we have been receiving abusive calls from this collection agency. when we requested for them to send proof of the debt, they begin to yell, become belicose, and abusive.
We try to ask for the debt detail to no avail.
This has been going on now for 3 weeks

This is a common complaint against this company.

For example, you can find similar complaints, here:

They were required to send you a letter within 5 days notifying you of your right to dispute the alleged debt.  Failure to do so is a violation of FDCPA, for which you can sue them.  So is abusive collection, such as yelling, which they are using to evade their obligation under FDCPA to validate the alleged debt.

Their attempts to evade validation may be an indicator that they suspect you might not owe the alleged debt, perhaps they don't really even know who does and are just guessing, or they may have no way to obtain any proof from the original creditor.

Contact a consumer protection attorney, as suing them is the most effective way to resolve abusive collection, particularly when it is likely you don't even owe the alleged debt.

FDCPA allows courts to award actual and statutory damages and attorney fees if you win, so you should be able to find an attorney in your area willing to take such cases on contingency.  Try www.naca.net
