I joined Lifetime Fitness on 12-Apr-2012. The sales person did not tell me about the additional fees for gym, rock climbing, swimming lessons. When I went to Lifetime fitness office on 21-Apr-2012 to cancel the membership, the front desk executive asked me to wait for 30 mins to meet the sales executive. After waiting for 20 mins, the front desk person told me that sales executive has left the office. When I questioned front desk person saying that why did he ask me to wait if the sales executive was not having time to meet me.He told me that he might have forgotten about you. The front desk person did not even guide me about the cancellation process.

You should be able to get your money back if you cancel within the first 14 days of your membership (a LTF policy).  They will try really hard to get you to stay. Tell them you are being transfered to a place that doesn't have a LTF.  Madison, WI would be a good choice, or say California, ORegon, etc

Not a fan of Life Time Fitness
Life Time Fitness has some of the worst customer service of any gym. They really come off as ignorant, low class and contemptible—abusing the little power they have, simply because they can. I had a situation come up where I had to go home for a month to take care of my dad after a heart attack. Linda (Bianconi, I believe her last name is,) the "customer service" person at Life Time Fitness in Burr Ridge refused to place my account on hold, because I did not know when I would be back. She said this service was only to maintain good will with customers, and if I was no longer going to be a customer, than there she could not extend that courtesy to me. I then called Life Time Fitness corporate office in Minnesota, where a vile customer service person there went off on me about how I need to be educated about their policies. She rude, arrogant and insulting. Where do they get these people? Although I know I shouldn't, I found myself wishing the person on the other end of the phone in Minnesota would suffer the worst of what I am going through, then maybe she would understand. I wish I had gotten her name. Someone like her should never be in customer service.
