As I figured. After simply Google searching the name "Starnet Paete" (is there a less catchy company name?) every result stated "SCAM".

Actually it's "Starnet Paetec" (the C got cut off by the caller ID). They are a provider of VoIP service. They are not making the calls. It just so happens that scammers and sketchy businesses use Starnet's VoIP service.

Since Jan. 3, I've had a call a day that comes up "Starnet Paete" on my caller ID. These callers have come up with a clever new way to avoid my phone's blocking capacity: every call comes from a slightly different number. They all have my own area code and the same exchange (327)--which is a real exchange in my region (presumably spoofed), but the numbers vary: 327-3529, then 327-3520, then 327-3531, and so forth. So blocking an individual number won't help, but I'm reluctant to block the whole 327 exchange ... Dear Nomorobo, please make a version for landlines!
