I bought a pair of Thom McCann sandals with "memory foam" soles at K-Mart in May of this year, thinking that I was getting a really good brand at a decent (sale) price. I found, though, that every time I wore them my feet would start burning after about 3 - 4 hours. At first I thought I'd have to get them broken in. I tried wearing them both with and without socks, but to no avail. Not only do the soles of my feet burn, but afterwards I have a LOT of trouble sleeping due to the discomfort. By the next morning they are better, and I don't seem to have any other after-effects.

I yahoo'd the problem and discovered that some other people reported allergic reaction to memory foam ingredients, though no one had mentioned it in relation to sandals.I don't have my receipt from K-mart, but do plan to go back to see if they will give me a refund or store credit. Wish me luck!!

I thought I was crazy because my new memory foam sole sneakers seemed to burn the soles of my feet. Now I know I am not the only one also!!!!

I also think I have a reaction to memory foam shoes.  My feet are cracking and burning so I looked it up.  At least I know this is valid and other people have issues

I am so glad to read this post.  Took me 6 months to finally realize it was my memory foam Sketchers that was causing the red burning and itching area on my feet.  Socks make no difference.

So glad I found this page I bought 2 pairs of Skechers sneakers with memory foam & my feet also red burning & itching.. The doctor thought it was athletes foot which confused me since I don't go to the gym or outside without shoes my feet look like I have blood poisoning.. I decided to look up 'allergic reaction to memory foam' since it started after I bought these sneakers & I've always bought Skechers brand just not with memory foam.. $100.00 bucks down the drain..

Same for me! I just bought 3 pair of the most comfortable Saucony shoes. I noticed my feet would start burning at night, but the past couple of days they burn while I'm  working. What a shame.  I loved those shoes!

I bought 2 pairs of Sketchers. After a couple hours my feet burn like crazy. Eventually I thought I had gout because of soreness in my heel. Turns out it was memory foam-itis! Still searching for a good natural shoe that's comfortable.

Wow ! What a relief to find these posts . My Sketchers have set my feet to I itching so badly I am going to the all night CVS to find relief. Maybe a spray .I have taken Benadryl and used extra - strength anti - itch creams to no  avail. I know I have a latex allergy but thought this was not a latex- use product.
