We get badgered with calls from this company at all hours - day & night. They never leave a message. We owe no money to anyone for which this would be relevant.
We want it to stop.

...in business?  Honestly, these are such sloppy folks, you'd think that the FDCPA violations would've nickel and dimed them out of business by now.  They consistently 'call the wrong person, with a manic vengeance.'  I personally believe that they don't ever think that they are calling the wrong person which is why there is so much of them calling the wrong person:

    https://complaintwire.org/complaint/5ZgBAAAAAAA/portfolio-recovery-associates

And, they never, NEVER, put anything into writing.  They do everything on the phone, never following up with the required demand letter via the USPS.

If I were you, I wouldn't bother with them at all.  Don't try to reason with them, don't send them zillions of cease and desist/you've got the wrong person certified letters.  They are, 100%, ignoring them.  Don't try to 'be the adult' on the phone when they harass you.  Don't even answer the phone anymore when they call.  DO, however, contact your local Attorney General and file a complaint.  DO file complaints with the FTC and the national Consumer Complaint Agency.  DO it.  But, don't try to engage or reason with these bozos anymore.  They're not listening anyway, why waste your breath and the money it takes to send them certified mail?

prosecute 1-386-490-8983 & 1-757-946-1151 seem to be related along w 1-786-540-1820#s, "1820, "1821...etc. and many others these are scamers whos tactics that include illegally collect bogus debt, pose as unbonded insurance sales, even try to sell prescription drugs to people. In the past these individuals have even posed as IRS, POSTAL INSPECTORS, LOTTERY OFFICIALS, THE REPEATEDLY FRAUD PORTFOLIO RECOVERY(2nd # above)  etc... The #s have tag teamed after people have told one # to stop calling. That this is allowed to continue apparently b,cause locals & feds are SCARED to prosecute minority cybercriminals is DESCRACEFULL!!!!!  If a white guy tries this see how fast hes locked in the deepest darkest federal hole in the us prison system. .....also if anyone has received paperwork through mail from these scams it is prossecutable through the u.s. postal inspector office...& they have no jurristiction limmits....if they are interested in doing their job as well.

    When dealing with idiot callers..
After telling them to cease calling, tell them their calls are being recorded.
The smarter ones will stop calling.
The worst will start sputtering and making a bunch of threats, exacly what you want recorded.

I think t they are specifically targeting the elderly.  My parents get 3 - 5 robocalls from these people a week. Fortunately my parents now have caller ID and don't answer the phone when they see Portfolio Recovery come up.  But they are calling from all over the country and when they go after people in their mid-80s, and won't stop, I have to wonder why no one has stopped them.

    ROBOCALLHATER
Our company constantly gets calls from this company.  There is never any one there I answer the phone and the call disconnects.  It is terribly frustrating when you waste your time on things like this when there are customer's calling with legit needs.
