Cheesy TV Come-on/Sex Line
Complaint
Stormy
Country: United States
My elderly mother ordered this, then changed her mind after speaking with the rep. when the rep could not answer all her questions about the product. She refused to refund the price of it, but said she could call on Monday to try to cancel. She asked for another person to speak to, and when she called the number she was given, she got a phone sex line.

Welcome to the world of fraudulent telemarketing. The goal is to get your account information any way they can, then take as much of your money as they can convince you you "owe" them. It's a "con".
These products are all scams, and they are out to take as much of your money as they can get away with. They typically claim you "agreed" to some "automatic monthly shipment", so they can keep charging you each month at some inflated price, and they will often put barriers in the way of trying to cancel the "monthly order", like unanswered phones, some runaround to another site or phone number "for approval", or whatever else they can throw at you. They will keep taking your money until you block the card number or close the checking account due to fraud.
They were all ready to passed her off to a bogus phone number to leave her with the impression that she could cancel if she spoke to someone else. They just want enough time for their charges to slip through, and they want you to believe this "mistake" is all "your fault".
That is how the game is played.
Immediately contact your mom's bank to block the card number or close the account to prevent impending fraud. File a fraud dispute against any charges that show up. Send a written dispute or fraud affidavit to her bank's dispute address or fraud department.
In the future, NEVER order products like this you see advertised on TV. MANY of them are scams just like this.
