A lot of "at home employment opportunities" are just scammers making money on sending you "information" on their supposed "opportunity".

Did you disclose your account information to whoever you sent away for information from?  Under what pretext?

Did they just send you a bill, or did they charge your bank account or credit card?

As for how to get your money back, you file a fraud dispute with your bank, under FRB Reg. E for checking account disputes, or FCBA for credit card disputes.  Contact your bank IMMEDIATELY to notify them that the charge is fraudulent, and close the account to prevent future fraud since this sort of scammer often has excuses to claim you signed up for some monthly "service" so they can run through additional charges.

Be sure to follow up IN WRITING making sure your bank receives your written dispute within 60 days of the statement date of the statement showing the disputed charge to invoke your Reg. E or FCBA dispute rights.

Although you might try to contact the "merchant" to dispute the charge, DO NOT DEPEND ON THEIR PROMISES TO REFUND.  If they set out to defraud you, they will not just give your money back, but more likely just try to string you along with refusals or promises until your 60 days runs out.

This outfit has been claiming to offer "work at home opportunities" at $69.90 for years.  They have lots of complaints.

I have the exact same charge ($69.90). It appeared on my bank summary as TW/IAUCTION. The only company that I have signed up for was "learn2promote.com". I realized it was a scam and sent an e-mail to cancel all affiliation with this company. They confirmed my cancellation in a return email. I was charged a week later.  Thanks for the info.

I signed up for a google home money making kit for $1.95. I closed it when I realized it was not what it seemed. I was charged $24.90 today. I got an 800 number 1-800-497-4988. It seems that when you cancel one part, you are still signed up for another part of this, that they do not tell you about. I called and she SAID she would stop payment. We will see. Good luck to all.

I just looked at my account and saw the charge on hold. I called my bank right away as I did not recognize the charge. They told me they would send me another card, and they are sending me a fraud complaint form. After this I decided to do a search on "TW/IAUCTION" as I never heard of it. This is when I saw this site. I too signed up with google adsense which was only a $2.95 charge and never disclosed any other charges, neither did I authorize any. They said this was a way to make money by putting the google search bar on your website, and bring traffic to your site and have them use the google search bar, you then would make money from that. Is there any way to sue this company with so many people having the same complaints? I would love to get all that money out of them, and show them what real damage is.....lol

I'm glad that I found this sight. I also just found this charge on my account and I have never heard of them before. I haven't signed up for anything from google or anything like that. I don't know where they got my information from. I'm calling my bank first thing in the morning, it's to late tonight. Also this phone number was on my bank statement 801-578-9020. I did a reverse look-up on it and found that it brings up 8 different names for that number all for one address in Salt Lake City, Utah. I am in Utah and you may all be interested to know that on the news about a week or so ago there was a company passing itself off as google scamming people out of money. I didn't pay much attention at the time but now I wish that i would have because I think that it is the same thing.

I have run into the same scam. Thank goodness my wife is diligent about checking the bank statement. I have the same $69.90 charge on my statement after signing up for the same home based business by placing advertisements on my google account. I have blocked my bank card to prevent any additional charges; and, am still working on trying to contact these jerks to close any account I have with them. It really pisses me off, no where did they indicate that I was signing up for a service that I would be billed for. I think there may be a class action lawsuit here. I am going to talk with a lawyer friend who handles exactly these types of cases. Contact me at jdbeyler@windstream.net if you have been ripped off by these people.

    John,
these people have been taking my money since may 2009 after I bought a $2.95 "Work-at-home opportunity from TWIAUCTION.  When I call them at 18004974988, they say i should have read the fine lines.  I want to be part of this class action.

I had my account put on a stop for no apparent reason. When I rang they explained that 2 charges had been made against my account by this same company. Both were at a time when I had no connection to the internet, i.e I was ill in bed with the flu for both transactions.

I then had to wait for a new card and pin number ( this took about 10 days) Not only was this inconvenient it was also very worrying as I NEVER use my card on anything but safe secure sites.

Today I have just had a letter to tell me that the charges have been refunded to my account.

I think these people should be brought to task, sooner rather than later

Exactly they should!!  I noticed a charge from them on my bill 2 days ago and checked my previous bill and there was another one I somehow didn't notice!  This really pisses me off because I have been unemployed for a while now and all I did was pay stupid $1.95 for that damn Google CD and now this happened!  I am going to dispute it w/my CC company today because that's my unemployment money they took!  That's not right!

I too have been scammed on this - I am so annoyed £43.72 UK sterling from my account twice - my bank have started a process to prevent them claiming more money but it takes 31 days and they got their 2nd claim in 3 days ahead. I am so incensed that these jerks can take money from you like this for "nothing back in return", this amounts to Fraud in my book - anybody got any numbers etc to contact them. I am in the UK.

i have been ripped off by learn2promote.com blog2promote.com seo2promote.com. They are making all these changes to my credit card, and even after disputing charges with Credit card company, we are not getting any refund. They are fooling people to sign up for the educational CD (which i never received) and starting to charge (from $14.99 to $78.99) for other educational services which I never used. I agree that I signed up for the CD and agreed to their Terms & Conditions, but I never received the userid/password information to access their educational website. If I didn't receive any service or product from these companies, how could they bill me for that. If someone is planning on a Class Action suite, you have my support.

I have just rang my bank re this company - i am in uk so they tell me to ring back after 3pm so that i can speak to them in UTAH. Customer services advisor seemed to know all about them but apparently you need a confirmation number to get transactions cancelled. Will let you know how i get on.
