There is one girl who keeps calling me at work named suzette. I have asked many times for them to call me at work. I do provide two cell phone numbers that they are allowed to call. And the only times I don't answer them is when I am at work. Even though I have told them many times that I can not have phone calls at work, and my Boss does not appreciate me having those phone calls at work, they still keep calling. My boss says that if I keep getting phone calls at work, I can and will be fired. Now, if I get fired, then I can't pay my bill. I have asked countless times for them to stop calling, and yet they keep doing it, what can I do?

These people are some of the most unprofessional, ignorant idiots that ever held a telephone. I swear they couldn't get hired at the TSA, so they ended up here.(They hung up on me when I asked that).

GOT A CALL FROM PROGRESSIVE FINANICAL SERVICES INC (ONE OF THERE SPOOF # 855 2288563)
PROGRESSIVE FINANICAL SERVICES INC contacted my family member at MULTIPLE TIMES stating that they falsely implying that they are attorneys, that you I have committed a crime, and that they operate and work for a credit bureau or misrepresenting the amount of my debt, the involvement of an attorney in collecting a debt, or indicating that papers sent to you are legal forms when they are not.

Debt Collector says it was Ms. Smith at 8552288563  and that i have a law suit and claims against me and that I have been severed and that Debt Collector will pursue my address and place of employment and that  the  documents were being sent out.

Progressive Financial Services was sent a ceast and Desist letter in writing telling them to stop.  They continued contact my work ,and employees and harassing my family members with phone calls .

I do not believe I owe the debt, I wrote and called the collection agency within 30 days after you are first contacted saying you don't owe the money. The agency still calls my employer and continue to harass.

Progressive Financial Services  constantly harass or abuse my family members about a debt that is unknown. For instance, Progressive Financial Services use threats of violence against my family members and my place of employment, and, use obscene or profane language, advertise the debt.

This same thing is happening to my mother, they will not give us their address. She has asked for it, I called the number they left my mother and asked for the address.  They would not give it stating safety problems. I have done some research and they are breaking the law, call my mother about someone else's debt, calling her numerous times, stating they are serving papers, yelling at her that if someone does not call them back in 5 minutes they will go the the place of work, etc. We need their address in order to file complaints. I have met with our Senator about this and he is waiting for me to call him back to proceed.

I have had the same problem with this company trying to tell me that I got a payday loan from a company that I never heard of.  They call my work all the time and even call my mom.  Why they call I do not know being that I haven't lived there for over eight years.  The first they spoke to her they told her that I wrote bad checks on a company letterhead and that's what they were after me for.  Then, they called my work and asked me to speak to a Gary somebody.  I called and honestly all the recording says is, "Thank you for calling Progressive."  I thought I was calling Progressive auto insurance so I hung up.  I decided the next day to try again and when I told them I needed to speak Gary, they didn't even know who this person was and transferred me to someone else.  He wanted me to verify all types of info that I was not comfortable in verifying and was one of the most unprofessional people I have ever spoken to.  Finally he said that I owed $600.00 to some payday company but if I made a good faith payment of $400.00 then all would be forgiven.  Really?  What company is going to take $200.00 less as a good faith payment.  I work in a field where I get a lot of scam calls each day and this sounds like one to me.  Now they say that they're going to deliver to court papers to my job.  That's fine.  We'll see what happens.  What really pissed me off is when I spoke to this guy who offered to take $400.00, I kept asking for a paper or something to show who the company was and if I could make payments or what have you.  Just something and he wouldn't send me anything.  He kept saying that the company they represented wouldn't want to do that.  They even had my wrong address.  I told him I would verify my correct address if he would just send me some paperwork on this issue but he still refused to do so.  I found out from the post office that my mail would be forwarded for 16 months but it had been over 16 months since I lived at the address they had on file.  In that case, the letter would send back to Progressive with my correct address on it and then all they would have to do is send it back out to me.  They have yet to do and I have never received anything in regards to this.  Honestly, I'm tired of dealing with them and this [***] way they do business.

First of all, you do NOT have to let them call you. You are required, if you owe a debt, to have a way to be contacted. Be sure that they know your correct and current mailing address.

Second, the way to get them to stop (or to sue if they don't stop) calling you is to send a certified letter, with a return receipt, saying that "All calls to all phone numbers are inconvenient" because that is the wording (inconvenient) in the FDCPA.

Third, if they continue to call after signing for the certified letter, then record the calls. In fact, it's wise to ALWAYS record calls from unknown phone numbers, because, if you do have debt outstanding, you never know when someone will make an illegal call to you.

Fourth, there is a big difference between the original creditor and a junk debt buyer. And collectors are known for taking your payments and not giving them to the credtor.

Fifth, don't take a debt collector's word for anything, even the time of day. They are the worst kind of salesmen: they want to sell you on the idea that it's good to give them as much money as possible, and will use shame, fear and hope, among other things, to get you to do it.

You can check with the IRS to see if catch up payments on student debt are deductible, for example. And, you can pay the lender directly, rather than letting the scum take a piece of it for harassing you.

It is really funny to see how stupid some of these so called "debt collectors" are when it comes to the law.  Have had multiple calls over the past few weeks.  All kinds of threats from them as to what they were going to do and what I was to have done.  Don't deny that there was activity with one or 2 loans, the remainder are hacks and my bank has corrected the issues.  Don't let them fake you out.  Demand written proof and when they stall tell them it will be you who is filing papers against them.
No court in my state will allow a case of money owed which is less than $500 will let it go to court.  Only small claims court for this type of action.
Love it when they say they will be at my residence in 2 hours with local law enforcement with complaint papers.  Tell them to come on and they will see what happens.
Read your debt collection laws, consumers do have rights
