Who ever they are (Digital Star Scam) charged my account $149.99 today pending for 2/13/2012. Beware! I will be going to my bank tomorrow morning to dispute and hope they can help get my money back.

    Same here.. My bank will put a stop payment on this and reverse the funds... I hate scammers..

    Numerous similar reports of fraudulent charges are being reported on other threads.  It appears that "Digital Star Ltd." was "dissolved" on Jan. 29, 2012.  It looks like their merchant account is now under control of criminals submitting fraudulent charges.

    If you are getting fraudulent charges, IMMEDIATELY block the card number, and submit a fraud dispute to your bank.  Your bank can reverse fraudulent charges if you dispute promptly.Reply !

      This is clear cut fraud.  I am a fraud investigator and they got me for $150.  Your bank can reverse the charges, but it is important to make immediate action.

        The problems to the consumers are two-fold.

        Although the banks can reverse it, consumers have to catch it and report it in time.

        In the mean time, if the charge is through a debit card, they are out real money from their checking account until the bank replaces it.


        The early reports are mostly people catching this when they checked their account on-line.  That is probably a minority of the people defrauded.  We are now just starting to get complaints from people finding the charges on monthly statements, but some people may easily miss it, Probably a lot of elderly and kids will end up with real losses, either from missing it until it's too late, or even from bad advice from their own bank on how to dispute and report fraud (FCBA or FRB Reg. E dispute, in writing, with fraud affidavit).  People are reporting being told "we can't do anything  until it posts.  Give it a couple weeks, and call back.  We will investigate then and get back to you."  

        Evidence is also starting to point to "pinging", rather than a bank or merchant hack.

    I hate all cons.  They should be executed, like in China.

    This is the second time this happens to me.  I am tired of this mess!!!  $74.95 was charged and am going to my bank tommorrow to get it reversed.
