Carpet Care (877-453-2531) called me unsolicited on Saturday. They said they would clean two rooms and a hall for $49.95, including they will move the furniture and will take care of spots. I bit their pitch and punched #1 on my phone and talked with the agent. It sounded like a good deal, of course it was TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE. When the worker arrived this morning he informed the "basic steam clean" (no shampoo) for $49.95 was for new carpets, not old (6 year old) carpets that needed deep cleaning. On a spot he showed me I needed shampoo to get my carpet clean. Then he was talking $250 plus. I should have said "Goodbye" right then, but I let him do the steam clean. He did the carpet area where there was no furniture and was going to leave it at that. I told him the phone agent said he would move the furniture. He said, "You want me to move the furniture?" I said, "Yes." I helped him move the 7 pieces of furniture. I had to ask him to then help me move the TV back into place. He didn't put any of the other furniture back in place. His total work time in my house was less than 30 minutes. He drove a white Chevrolet unlabeled van with Washington State license #B00250W  I wonder if he has a license to do business in Colorado.

    Thanks for the heads up.  I received the very same unsolicited call this afternoon and accepted their offer.  I am about to call them back and refuse the offer

      Thank you so much for posting. My elderly mother, who lives alone, just took the pitch. I will have her cancel! They did not tell her the company name so I had to google the phone number to get more info and found your post. Thanks again

    Thanks for these posts I had a bad feeling all night.  I google  the  number and read these posts.  I just cancelled todays appointment. I left a message not to show up.
