Europcar stroke me as a very disorganised company since our first phone conversations. I had to repeat to the same or/and different people the date of my arrival and my requirements. Despite that I decided to do business with them. It was Europcar afterall. The agreement was to call them upon my arrival and someone would wait for me at the coach station. I did that but once again they wouldn't remember who I was. In the end, they did come and I got a Hyundai Getz. The following night around 9pm I was driving alone in a remote area when a screw from the engine fell!! I left the car at the side of the road and called Europcar. They wouldn't come straight away but the next morning. They told me to leave the car there and the keys under the driver's mat. They would replace it with a new one that they would leave at the same place (the middle of nowhere). Indeed, they did at 11am the next morning. When I returned that car a day earlier and asked them to charge me a day less, they refused. I explained to them that I had already lost half a day because of the faulty car they gave me and I'm returning it earlier. They asked the manager on the phone and he said no. When I asked to speak to him as well, they told me that in fact they had talked to his wife and not him!!! If I wanted to talk to him I should come the next morning - more time and effort on my part for something that was entirely their fault. I decided I wouldn't ruin my holidays because of them and I never went back. And I never intend to go back...
