Currently there is a class action lawsuit being filed for the mildew/mold problems on the Whirlpool Duet Washer. I have also been batteling since day one excessive dry times on the gas dryer. The attorneys I spoke with were not aware of problems with the dryer. If you have the same problem please let them know. Maybe we can also get our voices heard on this issue too. Here is the link to the attorney handling the Whirlpool Duet Washer lawsuit:http://www.lieffcabraser.com/

    Whirlpool Duet washer/dryer.
Class Action lawsuit has recently been filed by Vijay Arora in Ontario Superior Court (Canada) against Whirlpool re for the mildew/mold problems on the Whirlpool Duet Washer.

Whirlpool Duet Dryer - within 13 months after purchase - Electronic Circuit board needed replacement due to faulty production issues (according to repair technition). Charge of $450.00 was not covered by Whirlpool which was 1 month over warranty period.

I too have had the same experience! My 2 year old dryer started malfunctioning and I called the serviceman and they wanted $450 to fix the "board" he at least had the decency to tell me NOT to fix it that it's not worth it because another part may break!

I am experiencing the same issues with my Whirlpool duet washer and dryer...They are 5 years old and the washer has had a mildew-y smell from day one...The dryer doesn't heat at all...I feared a pricey repair! Grrrrr!

whats up with this lousy dryer????   The flame lights for a few seconds, then shuts off again.  Dryer runs 2 hours to barely make a load of towels "damp".   A few months ago I replaced the gas coils, moisture sensor, temp sensor -- basically everything but the freaking motherboard.  Anybody else have this problem?   what'd you do?

yes I have the same issues with my washer and dryer; the clothes have a smell right out of the washer. i use the he detergent and have used a cleaner specific to front load odor issues.
my dryer takes HOURS to dry a load of clothing, literally HOURS. These units are only 3-4 years old and Ive had this problem since I got them. Whirlpool is less than helpful.

Yes, I have the same issues as well. Towels, smell even after I wash them. Have tried to remove mildew and mold, but no matter what I use, it comes back. The drier worked well at first...but now have to run it 1 1/2 hrs for towels to dry. Did not know anything about the class action lawsuit!!!
The only reason I found this, is because we are currently working on our Kenmore Elite fridge, yes WHIRLPOOL makes that to.... and yes their have been multiple complaints about the damper etc online as well. What the heck is a person to do!!!  Whirlpool sucks.
