Answered a 'blocked call' this morning.  Person on other end stated that he needed to verify our information in order to send out invoice for advertising on EZ Yellowpages.com.  Advised person that we have never subscribed to service.  He stated that perhaps first year was free, but insisted upon verifying info.  I told him that I am not going to verify and to cancel whatever they had as we do not want it.  Finally agreed to cancel and hung up.  He had a very strong accent and was difficult to understand, and talked fast....as they all do when they are trying to scam you.

We were scammed by this company.  Represented themselves as Yellowpages.com and we confirmed billing.  Then we found out that it wasn't Yellowpages.com and had no phone number listed to call and cancel anything.  Now we are getting phone calls about a $479.99 unpaid bill that we never received in the mail or agreed to.

    What do we do???  HELP!!

They lied about who they were to deceive you into thinking you were signing up for an ad with another company.  They are well known for this tactic.

Their "contract" is void due to fraud.

Insist that they mail an invoice.  They will probably avoid doing that, to avoid mail fraud charges.

Ignore any claims that they have a recording of your "authorization".  They are reported to fabricate, edit, or doctor such recordings.

If they do send you an invoice, file a mail fraud complaint with the U.S. Postal Inspector.  If they make any threats (such as to damage your credit) contact your state Attorney General.  These scammers have been operating so long they are well known.
