We rented a car in Italy from Europcar.  We listed time of pick up 10:30 AM.  The office and the garage were two different pick up points.  Thus by the time one fills out the paper work and walks, with luggage to the garage it was almost noon by the time we left with the car.  They rushed you out as there is little room in the garage and they want you out of the way.  When I returned the car 12 days later at around 2 PM they charged me an extra day... no leigh way...because I booked for pick up time of 10:30 and return at the same time! No problem, I will be smarter next time (if there is a next time) The problem is they gave me a car with a faulty tire.  When I got to my first destination I noticed it and returned the car to their outlet.  When I got home I received a bill for $50 Euro's, Admistrative fee. So they give me a unsafe vehicle and when  I exchange it it is my fault and charge me for the paper work. Never again... next time I will book the car with a new credit card.. used only for the booking.. once the car is picked up and the charge is gone through and before I return the car , I will cancel the card... let them try and charge any extra charges then..... let them chase me for a change... good luck!!!!

    Contact your credit card company and file a dispute.  Europcar does not listen to their customers or care about anything we have to say once they have our money.  However, if you hit them in their pocketbook it will get results.

    I have filed a dispute with my credit card company over some bogus Europcar fees and am letting them handle it.  They have the power to withhold payment to Europcar if the case is settled in my favor.
