Guthy Renker and Customer Service for MB is horrible!

After holding for over 15 min on the initial phone call, I spoke to an individual who only wanted my personal information before describing the product. I informed him that due to prev bad experience of agents ordering wrong product and leaving out bonus items and also providing my info after not wanting to proceed, i get phone calls for weeks on end trying to convince to order. (Even after multiple times of requesting they not call)

He gave me an annoyed huff and read a script as fake and unprofessional as can be. I felt like cutting him off but I did not. I waited patiently since this was his job and I am not going to tell him what to do. After he was done, I had to remind him that the description of product was fine but I was asking for the products in the purchase and what bonus items were included. He huffed again. After that, I advised him that the bonus items were missing. He said he did not know what they were and was unfamiliar with them and wanted to move on to finalize order. I asked him to provide me with another agent and he said that he would need to put me on hold and get his supervisor. Mind you his "Hold" was not a hold at all: I could hear everything.... After another 5 min on hold, he came back and hung up.

I called again but after another 15 min on hold on the guthy renker line for MB, I decided to order online.

I went directly to the site and the ordering seemed simple...until....they had the 'optional" online acct set up that allows YOU to receive offers from them, etc....  the order will not allow you to proceed until you agree to the terms and conditions. How is this optional??

I then get an order confirmation but with a message that the card could not be processed and they would try to run it for 14 days. I used a visa debit card and this has happened before but they have never confirmed the order OR tried to keep running it for 14 days without giving me the option to cancel or not proceed. is this legal?? *Sometimes visa debit cards give this type of flag for some reason*

I immediately called the rep to request the cancel since I have a pretty good feeling the order will be processed multiple times and I will be footing the bill for each order the"accidently" place. I was advised that there is nothing they can do and its impossible to cancel the order, they dont have that capabilty systems wise. Really? I find that hard to believe.
Shame on Meaningful Beauty for making a positive and exciting purchase a nightmare and shame on Guthy Renker for having even worse customer service agents. You should be banned from the product service business!!!

    Based on complaints from others, once they have your account information, you can expect to find repeated automatic charges to your card until you finally block it.  

    Thanks for your description of how they have deceptively constructed their website to obtain "authorizations" for other offers that consumers do not actually intend to order.

    Please forward this information to FTC.
