It's some guy calling, and yelling "you left a not on my car!  Man, why did you hit my car? What's your insurance information?"   Actually it's kind of comical. I started laughing.  I think they want you to get upset and start yelling at them or worse get defensive and give them personal information!  DO NOT EVER DO THAT!    So I just ask him to "back up a second, stop yelling, now where did you say this happened?"  Dumbass starts going off again yelling about his car.  I said "well if I left a note on your car what's my name?"  No answer.......I also got this same guy calling me on my cell this past Sunday night (4/1/12) spoofing behind my work number.  Same exact conversation, just kept yelling about his car, you left a note, bla bla bla.   Spoofers commonly use disconected numbers obviously so you can't call them back.  But this guy is laughable, not very sophisicticated and has a very limited vocabulary.

    Spoofing the caller id with your work number conclusively shows you have a scam, and not even some accidental mis-dial.  It also shows he is using VoIP.

    VoIP is commonly used by scam callers for cheap calls from overseas, and to hide their identity while using multiple spoofed caller id numbers.

    Limited vocabulary, or a thick accent, are also indicators of these overseas scammers.

    The fact that he found out your employer to use in this manner is also consistent with overseas shakedown scammers, who often troll the web looking for people to target by fraudulent use of any personal information they can find.

    You are probably right in assuming that his first goal is to get information.  That would probably then be used in some sort of "insurance claim settlement" shakedown racket, or just sold to some other scammer to play the fake "payday loan" shakedown game.

    The plot may change, but it's all the same game.

    Got this exact same phone call tonight. If you ask them to repeat themselves, they won't/can't. It was fun to keep them going. I just talked in circles with them wasting their time. It was entertaining to say the least.

    i keep getting a call from this number but no one is on the line. It is dead silent and then they hang up on me. They call at least twice a day!

      I just got a call from this same number and they did the same thing. Hung up as soon as I answered the phone. Stupid of me to answer the damn phone.

    I am a Retired Telephone Operator, my phone number is on the Do Not Call List. I NEVER answer calls that I do not recognize. I have a job & I mute my phone @work also. Constant calls from this number.

    I continue getting robo calls from this number. I have actually talked to someone on the other end and told them to stop. They are from the American Diabetes Association. Yeah, right.

      i got the same phone call. i said stop calling me. the robot voice said no. i said stop calling me and every time it said no. i finally said stop calling me im filing harrassment charges. it said yes and hung up

    Been getting calls from this number now almost 3-4 months, never have gotten a person only a brief few seconds of what sound alike a phone in a pocket (assumed it was pocket dialing at first) and then every single time I HAVE answered they hang up after being on the phone exactly 10 seconds. Over it. Changing my number with my next pay check.

    Received 2 calls yesterday and 1 so far today from (410)-625-1972. They hang up after I say hello (or sometimes I wait them out and don't say anything and after 5 seconds or so, they hang up). Caller ID says "Baltimore, MD" but when I call the number back, it rings once and then I get an error tone and a recorded female voice says "The number you dialed is not in service."  My # is on the do-not-call list and I have reported this number there as well.

    They are as relentless and annoying as Rachael at Cardmember Services...They call as much as 4x's a day.
    I have them blocked but I can check my blocked calls....I have never had Diabeties Don't have it now nor has anyone in my household This sounds like Scammers trying to get Insurance Information Never give out any personal Information to ANYONE who Robodials you!!!!!!!!!!
