First let me start by saying I have never even heard of this company untill one day I recieved a call from them stating I owed them money well after a few phone calls a a bunch of bull i decided it was just easier to pay them the money and be done. Four months later i recieved a call from the same unpleasant collection man stating I had never paid them. I looked up my cancelled check that was done by phone and called them back but noone had time to talk to me so i decided to look up their address on google map and it is supposedly in the middle of a 4way intersection with no building around. I also called BBB and was told to file a complaint and as you can see there are tons of complaints on this company already on the BBB site as well as others. I have decided to turn this over to the criminal department of the FBI as I am sure it is a scam. They claim to record your calls yet can't find them.

I also have had the same experience as John Young, and I too also paid after the first series of phone calls.
I orginally paid in Feb. and then in June they started calling again saying I still owed a balance. When I insisted on a bill in the mail, they informed me it had to be faxed or emailed. The BBB informed me that unless it was mailed, it was probably a fraud. I am refusing to pay and should do as the above person noted and turn into the FBI

I received a call from Mason Cooper, from YP-Effective Engine Search- stating that we owed the company$1385.00 for an account that was closed.  He stated that they received a payment from our company back in Nov/Dec of 2011, which he couldn't tell me the exact date that we paid or who authorized payment to them.  He's threating to put us into collections.  I kept asking him who authorized this in the first place and he stated that the yellow pages listings had problems when they converted most of the accounts online??  We had an issue in the past where a YB company actually withdrew funds from our acct. how can this be legal?

Our company has the exact same thing going on right now.  The first time I talked to a David Jenkins he said we owed $998.  The next time I talked to him he said $1,298 and now he just sent the fax over saying the amount was $1,148.  I talked with David on the phone again and asked him the address they were located and told him that was the middle of a 4 way intersection and asked him the name of the building he was in.  He said he didn't know the name of the building he went to work every day.  I said I wanted to know the exact date that our prior payment was made and he said he didn't have it and that goes through the sales deparment but they weren't available right now because they were on their lunch break.  I will not be paying this bill and I advise all else who hear from this company to make sure they go through these steps so they are not paying for something they are not paying for.

I just received a call from David Jenkins today.   Same as all of you....I owed him $490 for SEO service.   When I told him I would not have contracted his company, as I am the only business of my kind in my city, he told me I had been 'oversold' services, and put me on hold to talk to his boss (for about 10 seconds).   He then said he got my bill reduced to $480.  When I told him I was tired of companies calling me telling me I owed them money for services that I ordered over the phone, he told me that their legal dept would help me with those.   What a crock!!
He just faxed papers to me.  There is no way in hell that I am giving any bank information to somebody who has called me on the phone.  I have never heard of Effective Engine Search, and in fact already had a contract with another SEO company.   What a scam!!

I received a call from a David Jenkins today as well. I believe this company has been around under many different names and is always trying to scam businesses by making them think they are their engine or that they are actually the yellow pages ad department! Have been dancing around with these people for years!! They keep calling but they actually withdrew a fraudulent check through my bank. Of course the bank reimbursed me but they are extremely persistant!!!  Do not even talk to these people or just say your name on the phone to them as they record just that snippett and try to use that as your authorization to do whatever it is they can get by with!!!!  BEWARE of these people and phone number! I have even stopped talking to companies if they call and I am not familiar with their names!!! If they ask me my name they do not get a response!!

I am so sorry for my earlier post I feel so very foolish.  I called my accountant and had them look at my account from back in 2011 and was looking at the wrong account all together and completely forgot that I had done this because over the years I've received some very confusing phone calls and I accidentally paid a few companies I should not have.   I called them back today and apologized to this Jenkins guy and got it all cleared up through their legal department.  I apologize I am about to retire and have just had enough it is not in my nature to slander a company and feel horrible.  It was my mistake and I went online and just started reading a handful of complaints and I just jumped to conclusions.  I must learn from my mistakes, I even admitted to them I did this and they are still going to try to get me money back from these "resource" crooks I dealt with in the past.

Unbelievable!  I just looked these guys up again for the hell of it, and I find this message, accredited to me.  I did not write this post of aug 8.  I had to contact the BBB, and even got a call from the FL state's attorney's office about these scam artists!

I told these guys to take me to collections not remembering I had authorized this 2 years ago.  If  they had just given me the opportunity to verify the information I would've have paid it because I always pay my bills.  But me saying "take me to collections" just cost me another $700.00.   They said they would assist me in getting money back from from some illegitimate Yellow Page company I dealt with but until I get that money back I'm still upset with myself that I didn't just pay the original bill.  They should at least send out reminders halfway through the contract in my opinion.

Just called up David Jenkins today from a voice mail he left.
Same story as all of you. Suddenly owed a whole $1400 in a unpaid invoice that was well past due. He 'got' the late fees removed. I just laughed. Told them to never call me again.

    Feel free to report them:
