Damage to my roof

I switched from Comcast cable to DirectTV in 2009 (BIG mistake) because of all the money I was going to save...ha ha ha. During the initial installation it was brought to my attention, once the technician who installed the service left, that he had gone through my daughter's personal journal which was in her desk, (so he also went through her desk) to locate a piece of paper which he wrote his name and phone number on. Like a fool, I let it go. During the 2 years I had DirectTV, the dish had to be moved twice due to poor reception. The first time the dish was moved it was moved from the chimney side of my house (the first tech installed it there so it wouldn't be such an eyesore) to my roof. During the second time the dish was moved, the whole unit including the foot was removed from my roof, thus removing roof shingles and causing damage to my roof. I ended up going back to Comcast (their techs are what I would call PROFESSIONAL) and received a bill from DirectTV for around $100, I then received a second bill which had an additional $122 added on. When I questioned the charge I was told the charges were charges that Verizon couldn't charge me, but were owed to them??? I decided before I would pay DirectTV for the initial $100, I would get the damage to my roof assessed. I contacted a reputable builder and he provided me with a quote of $450 to fix my roof. I then wrote to DirectTV, included the quote along with photos of the damage as instructed by the info I found on their website. Since then I have been back and forth regarding my damage claim only to be told that they will not pay for the damages as there is "No evidence indicating who removed the footplate". Clearly the technician isn't going to own up to a mistake he made that would cost them over $400 to resolve. I don't care what that company has to offer in the future. I will NEVER do business with them again. Their technicians are unprofessional, they don't prepare you for the monstrosity of a bill the first billing cycle and they definitely won't take the blame for damages they cause to your property. I am very happy with Comcast, have not complaints what so ever.
