I purchased a last minute ticket for a family emergency. I purchased the trip cancellation policy in case as well. I ended up cancelling my trip and HOTWIRE advised me that the policy I purchased does not cover Pre-existing conditions. Mind you, I got a call stating my dad had heart failure, and i purchased the ticket 3 hours after that call. I ended up driving out to him because the times they gave me for my flight were too late to fly out. I called and a representative told me we cover any trip interuption.I filed a claim and they advised me that they will not cover it because it was a preexisting condition. I stated that I was called about the emergency at 930pm I purch ticket at 12:15am, and they consider that a pre-existing condition. Its called a family emergency for a reason. I am out that $500dollars, while still dealing with my fathers health issue. NEVER AGAIN WILL I DO BUSINESS WITH HOTWIRE.
