I surely wish I would had read reviews before purchasing this terrible washing machine. Just like the other comments, our washing machine never washed our clothes thoroughly. The same white residue on our clothes as well. Only 2 years old and the control board has failed. We learned this when we started a load of laundry in the morning and went to work and found it still running when we got home that evening. So much for efficiency!  Commercial Technology??  What a joke!  I called Maytag and spoke to one of their representatives. Explained the situation and he confirmed it was the control board I called maytag in spoke to 1 of there representatives. Explained the situation and he confirmed it was the control board. I asked him if this was a common failure and he said it was common. Sounds like these need to be recalled. As contacting Maytag has shown no results, I plan on taking additional actions.  Too many consumers are being taken advantage of.

WE purchased this washer in 2013 and it has been tearing clothing, especially fine fabrics, ever since.  This is irrespective of setting used.  We have also experienced the poor washing, which is not that unusual for so-called "high-efficiency" washers.  Apparently Maytag has responded to the complaint about low water levels by making the new models with doors (or lids, as you might call them on top-loaders) that lock shut until the cycle is over!  That way you cannot see the water level.  I guess the laugh is on us.
