keep getting calls from this number when I pick up none is there! They call 5 times a day. Googled the number and it seems others are also having problems

Reported to be Macy's internal collections department.
If you have a Macy's card (or Bloomingdales and several others owned by what used to be called Federated Department Store), you might call their customer service number from your card or statement to see if there is any problem with your account.

These people are not Macy's or any of the above, they are scammers and will tell you that you have a balance and would you like to pay over the phone. I suggest hooking them up to the fax machine for a while.

I do not give information out over the phone and they insisted i pay a balance on my macy's card over the phone. Told them several times i will call macys and pay at the store. They didn't seem to like that. Well I called macy's and that is their outsourced collections calling from india. They make a percentage plus the fee they charge. I just paid the initial balance at macys and all is good. THey do sound like a scam and they do call non stop. We had just bought a wedding present for someone last week and they were already calling. Payment wasn't even late yet. A bit crazy in these tight money times.

So glad I googled this #. They not only continue to call my home phone 2 to 3 times a day ...which I don't answer...then immediately call my Cell phone ( I don't know how the got that number. I am filing a complaint.

It's not a scam. It's Macy's. Because Macy's mind as well be a scam. If you haven't noticed they have the worst customer service ever, which includes calling 7 times a day.
