ATT Long Distance
Complaint
Kim
Country: United States
I received a call at 5:11pm on 9/22/11 from a women telling me that ATT and lost the distributorship and rights to long distance. My long distance would continue to come to me on my ATT bill - but they neede to confirm some things. She had my name, address, telephone number and the number of minutes I use on my telephone. I advised her that I had been scammed in the past - I was not going to talk longer. Goodbye. If ATT needed to speak with me or make any changes to my account I am sure they would contact me by telephone.

As you probably suspect, ATT did NOT lose any "distribtorshop and rights to long distance".
The fact that this caller would use such a blatant lie indicates that they were trying to con you, probably attempting to get some statement from you that they could record to either slam your phone account to another carrier, or to cram additional charges for some worthless "service".
You might just check with ATT and see if they got some fraudulent order to switch you to another carrier. See if you can have them block all changes or third party billing, to block fraud attempts.
