leaving white residue on black clothes

We bought this machine eight months ago and it leaves white residue on the black clothes started out small marks but getting worse now all over clothes just now trying to wash again to see if  it will get the marks out also had to have repairman out to replace part two weeks ago would not buy another Maytag although I understand that Whirlpool is making Maytag since they  bought Maytag out
