HughesNet's service and customer support are terrible. I often cannot access my email. Once I was out of internet for 2 days and they were telling me every time I called that it would be fixed within an hour. It was not and I listening to their false statements stayed home checking my internet instead of going some place with wireless internet. Their customer service is horrible. Every time I call I get a different answer to the same question. In short, if you have a choice, don't go with HughesNet!

    Hughesnet is the worst ISP I have ever used. How can they claim HIGH SPEED when their service is SLOWER than dial up? I was able to get out before my 30 day trial period was up. Avoid this company! I did find a solution, Sprint air card, it works great!

    Let me tell you, don't go with hughesnet.. my computer was down over 1 month and everytime I called, I had to speak to someone who could hardly speak american.. I found out that the technical support was located in India and they would read from a script and say the exact thing everytime I called.. They sent me 3 modemns none of which worked.. I insisted on a repair man, mind you I am going on 4 weeks without any success and over 40 hours of phone time in trying to get help from hughesnet.. I could scream not to mention never to hear the voice to another India person... If I had know they were not an american based company, I would have never bought the satalite disk .... I mean NEVER!!!! they are the worse company i have ever dealt with in my 60 years on this planet...

    Hi, we have just been hooked up since the 22nd of January and have had the slowest speed half the time, so we upgraded hoping that would help, to no avail. I bought a packet8 phone system, hoping to lower my phone bill, but my upload speed is so low, I can't even get a voice on other end that isn't jumbled. Am going to look into some other satellite company tomorrow.
    I sure hope they are better. By the way, it is awful frustrating to not be able to understand your technical support as Sue says.

    Requested upfront plan when arranged for service.  When first billed I had been incorrectly assigned the Promotional Plan(24 months at additional $20.00 per month).  I have spent several hours on the phone trying to get this foul-up corrected and billing is still incorrect. Who knows how much more time will be wasted before this is corrected.  It has been extremely frustrating and I wish I had chosen another provider.  I can't believe any other internet service provider would be this inept.

    i think that hughes net is so dirty that when you complain so much about their service they unfairly suspend your email account to make it harder for you. this has hapenned to me. believe me their service and their lying tv advertizements should be liable for faudulent consomer ads. simply if yo can get anthing above dialup get it --DONT GET HUGHESNET
