Water Condenses on Freezer Unit and Pools on Floor

After 17 months, inability to resolve issues with a defective Kitchen Aid major appliance. I purchased a Kitchen Aid 42” side by side built in refrigerator freezer approximately June 2011 and installed shortly thereafter. I plugged in the unit and it did not go on. The Kitchen Aid repairman diagnosed the problem as a faulty electrical wire that was ordered and replaced. Shortly thereafter, I noticed a pool of water on my wooden kitchen floor. Along with my carpenter, we pulled the unit out off the bay in which it was installed. The water was coming from condensation on the freezer and freezer back of the unit. The Kitchen Aid repairman came after a few weeks later and was told by Kitchen Aid to place 12’ by 12” self stick foam panels to the area where moisture was condensing which he did in two service calls since not enough self stick foam panels were delivered to him initially. Unfortunately, that did not work since the condensation continues. During this 17 month time frame, I made calls to Kitchen Aid customer service and one time I was told that it was normal (although she could not explain why there was no condensation on the freezer door). Another time I was told that it was because I don’t have air conditioning in my house. A call was made to Jeff Fettig, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Whirlpool who manufactures and sells Kitchen Aid appliances. A Kitchen Aid representative returned the call on behalf of Mr. Jeff Fettig and said their policy regarding expensive appliances (I think I paid over $6,000), is to attempt to repair the appliance before replacing the unit, which is understandable. However, after nearly 17 months they have not repaired the unit since water continues to condense.
