Salespeople lie to keep money and boost ticket price.

I purchased a regular fare ticket. An error was made in the return date. I asked customer service how long for refund and I only had these funds to purchase ticket. They state it has been only a few minutes and the airlines have not received the funds and they still have them. If you cancel you will get the funds back almost immediately and you can purchase another ticket. SO, I cancelled.

 The refund confirmation said 30-60 days and that American Airlines has control of the authorization. I then re-called Hotwire and they said that the letter is not true because the funds were still in their account and that it may take a day. Well for the time of the refund 8:30 PST and until the next day so far, 12 hours no refund has been posted. Also how can they process a refund if American has the authorization???? I am pretty sure they will tell you anything to get you off their back.

 I called them again and now the customer service states that it may take 30 to 60 days to get the refund and she does not really know! She said whatever the floor manager said and she states he noted in my account probably one day. Now I would never have cancelled my flight if HOTWIRE representative would not have given me false information on their policy of refund.
Now I cannot even get a ticket and if I do it will cost 50-150+ for my flight. Now they have my money and I dont even have a ticket. Talked to THREE DIFFERENT CUSTOMER SERVICE REPS AND EACH HAD A DIFFERENT ANSWER.
I am going to the bank and filing becuase they misled me so far on two conversations that have left me without funds or a product. As a result I will have to pay hundreds more possibly for a ticket.
ADVICE: RECORD EVERY CONVERSATION  YOU MAKE THAT HAS TO DO WITH MONEY.
I will never use this company again.
