I have a Maytag 3000 Series washer I bought less then 3 years ago. When I went to use it I pressed the power button, then pushed the start button, but all the light did was blink around the losad selector. And the start button beeped.
It flashed a fault code of F02, and F71 I think. I checked online to see what they were, but only found the F02. (Drain clog.) Its also said to unplug after the drain was cleaned out, but when I did, all that happened was power button beeps 3 times and nothing else. the timer that came on before isnt on, nothing.

I bought this washer and dryer to replace my 12 year old GE topload cheap as you can get washer and dryer. Did you catch that? 12 years old. and no problems until then.

These Maytags are JUNK. I used to think they were the appliances you cant kill, but I guess I'm the fool now.

I also have this lousy washer. The customer service rep will refer to my post as my opinion. Fact for Maytag: the 3000 Series washer is garbage. It lasts no longer than 3 years. Then you find out with the error code "F70" or "F71" that it a "missed heartbeat" - this way they can sell you a new CCU or MCU for $230+ dollars, on a machine you paid over $600+ for. I will never purchase a Maytag product again, as I have already replaced the dryer once (on my second dryer) and now for the second time need to replace the washer. Thank you Maytag.

Same thing happened to me. Maytag 3000 washer. F70 and F71 codes. This machine is a piece of garbage. You would think that buying a Maytag it would last more then 2 years. Well think again! Maytag just gives you the run around. They don't stand behind their products one bit. It's like they know they're selling junk, but do it anyway. I almost feel bad for their customer service people because they are probably on the phone all day pretending they've never heard this complain before and retelling the same lies. I suggest you go to your local news outlet and have them feature it on their consumer protection news section!!!!

Our Maytag 3000 washer stopped working 14 months after we bought the washer. The repair man came out and said the gears were completely out along with the computer board. They told us to buy the extended warranty which we did. Then they told us they were refunding the money for the extended warranty because it wasn't cost effective for them to fix it. I called Maytag and they will do NOTHING about it. The only thing they offered us was to send us a new washer that we would have to pay for again and they would take off the year we had the other one, which would be $398 plus shipping of $175 that we would have to come up with for the new washer. Unbelievable. We called numerous times and Maytag will not honor their product. These washers are defective. No one should have to buy a new washer 14 months later. It is still sitting and is useless.I wish we would have seen the reviews on this. We will never buy another Maytag appliance because they do not stand behind their products.

    Issues issues
Maytag does suck, Whirlpool bought them FYI- so anything with the Maytag is under Whirlpool now.
I've had mine repaired twice. The first time fortunately was under warranty- and the part that needed to be replaced (the drum) cost more than the whole machine did. The rubber lining on the front load washing machines carry mold and Mildew and there is no way to clean it properly, that was the second repair, as it got a tiny pinhole in it and water leaked all over my floors every time i used it.... and that ended up costing us $385 to have it fixed. Also The timer that is supposed to beep when the laundry is finished- well that went too. Error codes constantly- Ugh- a nightmare.
"They" don't make things that last anymore, for sure. I had a washing machine that lasted ten years before this one and the only reason i got rid of it and bought this one is because of the HE and Energy Savers- Bah, not a $$ saver, in the least bit!

My washer was working fine, last time I used it.  Then, went to use it again, and when I press the power button, it beeps 3 times and NOTHING else.  I tried leveling it, I took the water hoses off and cleaned the screens and took the drain hose off but there wasn't anything in it.  Now, it just beeps 3 times.  No codes, nothing.

I'm on the internet investigating the same problem. Power button lights up, You can turn to the cycle you want and it lights up around the dial according to the cycle you want, It lights up what type spin cycle and what temp you are wanting to wash. Then push the start button and it sounds 3 quick beeps and nothing turns on. No codes, nothing. I want to stick my foot through the glass door!!!
I'll continue to research and get back if I find a fix.

If you are getting 3 quick beeps without seeing a code it's because you missed when the code flashed.  This same thing happened to me with the Maytag 3000 washer, it had stopped running, said "F70", then I cycled the power and the code no longer appeared but the machine was dead and doing the 3 beep thing.  If I would have missed seeing that code I wouldn't know where to begin...

Got a series 5000 dryer. Does the same thing. The fix? Open and shut the door, and press in on it, while keeping it pressed push the start button. It should lock and run.

I have done this many times. The door and locking mechanism gets lazy over time, so you gotta nudge it a bit. Yeah, cheap.

I got the same issue - power won't turn on and hear 3 beeps instead on Maytag 5000 series steam front loader washer. Check the door switch. Mine was broken. Replaced with the new one and it seems to be ok.
