Since 02/24/2010 this company has drafted from my checking account $16.95 monthly for a service I did not signup for. I called 888-239-0316 on 06/23 and cancelled 06/24 pending transaction from my bank account. Since I am the only one in my home, this clearly was not any mistake I made while online. They knew only generic information such as my address.

They get consumer account information passed to them from other merchants you may have bought from, using deceptive pop-ups or offers to obtain what they claim is your "authorization".
The Senate Commerce Committee has held hearings last year investigating this type of scam, and the New York Attorney General is investigating several similar companies and their marketing partners. This "industry" has apparently risen to the billion a year revenue levels, for worthless "services" or "discounts" that consumers never wanted.
VISA recently changed their policy regarding passing account information to third party sellers, requiring that the account number be re-entered by the consumer, so that at least the consumer knows he is about to be charged for something.
File a fraud dispute with your bank, and send them a fraud affidavit. Also close the account due to fraud, or they will keep making fraudulent charges.
Since your bank may only refund the last 60 days of charges, file fraud disputes with your state Attorney General, and file a fraud complaint through BBB. They are feeling some heat, and some reports are that this may shake loose their ill-gotten gain, as they try to pretend they are "legitimate".
I am on my way to my bank to file a complaint to receive my reacurring money you people took out of my account.
