This is our third mattress replacement purchase from Mancini's Sleepworld in Modesto, CA.  They talked us in to "upgrading" our mattress (a.k.a. spending more money for a better mattress to avoid problems.) We upgraded to a Chattam and Wells, which we were told was the "BMW" of mattesses, and Spring Air's website calls this the "luxury" mattress.  We've paid over $3000 for this. Within three months, I noticed two impressions on both sides of the bed.  Mind you, I am 115 lbs, and my husband 200 lbs.  We are not big people.

The dips are so large that I have to stuff the bed with blankets and sleep on top the comforter so my back isn't swaying when I sleep.  Haven't slept in my bed for months!

After contacting Mancini's, we did have someone come to the house taking measurments.  Not deep enough for replacement.  After a year now from purchase, we are meeting requirements (the impressions are deeper now) for a replacement, but were told that Spring Air is now OUT OF BUSINESS!

My question:  Is the warranty null and void?  Or should Mancini's cover the warranty?  Who should we go after?  What should we do?  I have over $3000 invested in a year-old mattress.

This is America.  What does a company do that sells continuously an inferior product?  They declare bankruptsy, they void all their warranties and wash their hands free of all their problems and then they go back into business under the Same Name SPRING AIR and they try to sell you another piece of junque.  This is America and we buy it.  There must be millions of us who bought this junque under the premise that we had a great warranty to succumb to the string test.  Well any fool can tell if you place a piece of foam over a hole and hump in a bed and then pull a string across, there will be no hump or hole, so therefore no warranty applies.  When they determined that many of us would not adhere to the string test and made the "tester" lie down on the hump and hole, they determined to retreat and take the easy way out.   To those who do not have a hole where you sleep and a hump in the middle of your Spring Air, hold your breath, it will come and you have no warranty.  To those of us who have back problems caused directly from the problem the people who ran this company knowingly caused, we may not get any relief from those who made this inferior product and ran when the problem arose, but in the end, they will pay the ultimate price without redemption, may God be easy on them.

Yes Mr Griggs, this is America
Where else but in America do you see small 80 year old independent franchised family businesses who took pride in making a quality product get gobbled up by huge investment banking groups like HIG Capital and American Capital Investments who could give a crap less about what kind of product they produce- they couldn't get their freaking noses out of their Excel Matrix's. All they cared about was their return on investment... chop chop chopping expenses, chop chop chopping heads, make that product as fast as possible so they can flip the company over and sell it for a nifty little profit and move on to rape and pillage the next merger/acquisition victim.

You sir have no idea what you are talking about. Wake up. How dare you spread untruths. You had better check your facts before you put LIES in writing. American Capital does NOT own the new company. To use your words,
" May God be easy on" YOU!

    Great Disappointment!!!
We also purchased a Spring Air mattress set 5 yrs. ago and still supposedly have a 10 yr. warranty. But, we have had our mattress also leave big, deep impressions on each of the side of the bed.  Which of course leaves a BIG hump in the middle. They took care of the problem when it was 4 years. old.  After one month, it was doing the same thing. Again the rep came out and had it sent back and we were told that they fixed it wrong.  Well, now after 1 year, its doing it again! Now, we are told its not deep enough! But, how do you sleep in dipps with the large hump in the middle.  Cant' sleep many of nights!! It's hard coming up with large sums of money to expect to buy a good product!!!  We'll NEVER, EVER, buy a Spring Air again and will let many others know that they aren't a good bed also!!!

Yes, I too bought a $1000.00 Spring Air "Camelot" bed for my son 2008. I brought up the problem to Lewis Furrnitue, McMinnville, Oregon in 2009. Dave the owner said they had gone out of business and at first said he'd look into it. After asking him a couple of times what he found out, he decided to through it back into my lap. He made his money to bad for me! The problem is the flipless mattress pillow top has came loss from the mattress it self. I am not weathly at all, but at the time I had gotten a bit of money and thought this would last him for years to come, like my Kings Down bed I have had for 20 years! Now I am trying to find out how to get ahold of the warranty dept. so we can get this fixed. From what I have read so far it's not sounding probable.

Did you buy it from a furniture store if that's the case you didn't get an actual spring air and you should go after the store. I sell mattress for aliveing and I work for an actual mattress company. At a mattress store we can only sell comercal grade made and warrenty by manufacturer furniture stores design the mattress and warrenty it those are garbage. Its like buying a John deer at lowes home improvement there not John deers you would ho to a dealership to get the real deal. Also spring air is not out of bussines.

    Mad in Modesto
I too bought a Spring Air Mattress in 2008 from Hansens Furniture in Modesto. Within 3 months the springs on the bed collapsed on one side. I immediately called Hansens who directed me to the company in So. Cal. I called and left at least 10 messages, no reply. I called Hansens back, they said they could not help me. I found out that the company went hour of business even thought they had a website up. I am now stuck with a bed that dips 8 inches on my side and the other side is blown out. A new family bought Spring Air and said they would try to fix the mattress, however since there is a water spot it voided the 20 year warranty. I explained to the them I had been dealing with since April of 2008 and there was no water or any spot on the bed at the time of the original issue. I am now going to buy a bed from Macys. I spent alot of money at Hansens and will NEVER buy from them again. I hate this bed and I spent a fortune for nothing. They will not honor the warranty if there is any mark on the mattress. Do not buy this mattress or from Hansens. I have to wonder if they knew the company was bankrupt when they sold me the mattress, very bad business.

I think you should go back to Mancini's Sleepworld in Modesto, CA. and complain again about your mattress dipping in certain areas. They sold you the bed and they should have a phone number to a Spring Air Representative.

They should call the representative in front of you and then hand the phone over to you so you can speak to that person. If you spent $3000 on a bed they should bend over back wards to help you. I know that Spring Air went bankrupt but they still need to honor the warranty. I pasted the information from the Spring Air website if this helps anyone.

International Licensee Summit in Guangzhou China

In attendance at the Spring Air International meeting were China, United Arab Emirates, India, Egypt, Australia, New Zealand, Korea, Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam were among the list of licensees. There were additional countries in attendance however the licensees are based in the above countries. Corporately Rick Robinson and Eric Spitzer were in attendance.

This was the first ever Spring Air International licensee meeting held outside of the United States with the sole purpose of creating international strategies to grow the value of the Spring Air brand. At this meeting were some great ideas and concepts that were used to design and create a series of international products. Another key ingredient to this meeting was a series of roundtable discussions to uncover common marketing tools and programs to begin our mission to make Spring Air an even more powerful international brand. Spring Air's international licensees enjoy significant market position in their respective countries. As a whole those attending have annual sales in excess of $350 million US Dollars. Spring Air sales as a percentage of their sales grew at a double digit rate over the past 12 months showing the brand is growing even stronger. This was a major step in our vision to take advantage of our global asset of successful experienced licensees. We left the meeting with a series of initiatives that will benefit the Spring Air brand both internationally and domestically

This was the first Spring Air and the last in less than 1 year my wife at 145 lbs was sleeping in a hole and developed back problems from the mattress. We purchased the set at City Mattress in Wellington Fl. This another case of the Business not wanting warranty a deffective product. Measurements at one year was just under 1 1/2 inches and was told by their
service department to call back when it gets a little worse. Now the mattress has a 3 inch impression and by the way it's not even a pillow top.Called the factory in Chelsea Ma and was informed that Sping Air is now
bankrupt, I guess we are all out of luck on this product!!!

Spring Air makes a piece of garbage all the research backs up why they went out of business. My next bed is comming from Costco because if I have a problem they will refund your money or give another mattress and box spring.

I dont understand how Spring Air can be out of business. I purchased a Spring Air back supporter Clover mattress in Dec 2012. Within 1 month the border of mattress had given away. You couldnt sit on it to lay down. Also deep impressions in bed. I called the furniture company I bought it from and they called the dealer. Which the owner of furniture store told me my bed was for sleeping on NOT sitting on. I had to explain to her that you couldnt even sit on it to lay down without falling off. No where on the tags of mattress say where it was made or manufactured. The day it was to come in the truck broke down but according to its location I assumed it was made in Texas. I live in Oklahoma. Anyway after 1 month we are right back where we started. I have been just waiting to see how bad its going to get. Its now been 3 months. Im calling furniture today. I personally dont want another replacement mattress of the same kind because I know what will happen. This mattress is my 19yr old daughters and she is wanting to move out but I dont want mattress to go with her. I guess I will call furniture store and see what happens. Last time it took 6 weeks to get replacement mattress and box springs. Its given out too. Im not waiting that long this time. If they want to replace it with a better model then thats on them Im not paying for it.
