Rude, harassing call at work
Complaint
Oy
Country: United States
Received a harassing call from a "Scott King". He initially could not get me and call a co-worker of mine in a different department. He did not answer any questions, talked over me when I tried to ask any questions. Gave me 855.545.0250 for RH Group to contact for a Release Order Form.
I called my lawyers gave them all the information for them to handle this issue. I will file a formal complaint with the BBB.
I know my rights and was informed that these harassment tactics are illegal under the FCRA. After my lawyers research this, I will be seeing what legal action and restitution can be taken against RH Group for these rude, "scare" tactics.
This is to make you pay immediately without questioning the debt.

The BBB has an alert out on them because they have not responded to the BBB's request for proof that they are a valid corporation and licensed to do business in New York. They are not listed as a member of ACA International, the lobbying group for the debt-collection industry.

This may not matter. Even if an agency is registered with some bogus group, this won't ensure legality or fairness on the agency's part. In short, don't let the addition of some 'group' on the profile of some collection agency deter you from treating these guys with prejudice.
Because they are not with any sort of professional organization just means that they haven't 'been around long enough.' Don't stop with the BBB. Get your lawyer to get on them for contacting a third party (about a debt which they have yet to validate). Get the skinny on what it takes to file a small claims action against them, and file for each and every violation of the FDCPA. If, after you've received your judgments, they either 'disappear' or refuse to pay up, do what I did - sell those judgments to another collection agency and let the buggers eat one another. It's a cannibals' business anyway. Let them work out their animal urges on one another and leave the rest of us alone.
