We had a similar experience to Rimas Butkys in 2008. We booked a reservation with the Holiday Inn Express in Moab Utah for two nights more than 1.5 months in advance requesting the AAA rate. We got a non-refundable immediate charge to our credit card. Attempts to contact either the hotel or the central company were not successful.  When dealing with the Holiday Inn, be careful!
