DO NOT BUY MAYTAG appliances!!! I purchased a Maytag dishwasher in Oct 2009. I had intermittent problems with the control panel and finally in Oct 2011 it completely stopped working. It took 6 MONTHS to get the part, that cost almost $400!!  The part was installed in March 2012 and 34 days later it failed again. New control panel installed in May 2012 and Now at the beginning of August 2012 it has quit working again. Maytag will DO NOTHING because they only guarantee their parts for 30 DAYS!!!!!  What does that say about the junk they are making????  I am totally disgusted. Terrible product, terrible customer service. STAY AWAY from WHIRLPOOL AND MAYTAG!!!

    my maytag  diswasher will not start all the lights light up when pressed except the start button is that the problem you had

    My dish rack is all burned and broken.. it is only 4 years old and hardly used...

    My maytag dishwasher has never been any thing but trouble.  We have had it worked on several times
    not too long after we purchased it,  When the lights wouldn't light up and the only button that would work was the time delay.   W hen the door was seporated from the inside of the door we were shocked as to what we found.  I guess it was the blue insolation,  was curled up and hard as a rock.  What would have caused  this?  It had to have gotten to hot.  The inside of the door was dirty. How would this have happened?  MAYTAG should be responsible for their bad products. We buy their products believing they and as advertised.   They misrepresent their products.

    My (upgrade) Maytag Model# GDWDT200RWW is the worst dishwasher I have ever owned. When we first purchased it from Home Depot it was not cleaning the dishes. We had a warranty repairman out to review the situation. He said we needed to preheat the water for the dishwasher and only fill it half full. I am currently per washing every dish or glass. All this dishwasher appears to do is "water" the dishes. They are never dry either. When I unload the unit I need to wipe 80% of the dishes. The unit is 3 years old now and the top rack lost all the ball bearings because the cheap plastic ball bearing keeper was worn out. The top rack never slid correctly always binding on one side. The bottom rack was not set up to correctly hold dishes. I wonder if the engineer that designed the racks ever used a dishwasher. I have owned Hot Point,  Whirlpool, Kenmore and , GE dishwashers prior. This unit is by far the most disappointing dishwasher we have ever owned. DO NOT BUY A MAYTAG DISHWASHER!!!!

    my Maytag is a piece of junk. Some of the touch panel lights come on , some don't. it hardly ever runs at all. I detest  Maytag

    We bought a new Maytag OVEN and stove, dishwasher and over-hood microwave and Wide by side refer. EVERY SINGLE Item is defective. Refrigerator had bad defrost circuit, bad compressor and bad ice maker. Stove quit lighting and the gasket is hanging in the middle of the oven window. Microwave hand is plastic wrapped and coming apart and the dish washer had the handle break and the control pad replaced and finaly it started leaking water. WTH!!! Should file a class action law suit.

    We had the same experience as Jim, and many of the other people on this blog.  We bought all new stainless steel Maytag appliances from Home Depot 2 years ago.  Side-by-side fridge, gas stove, and dishwasher.  Every single unit has had some problem.  The track for the bottom drawer of the stove has a problem / is broken, and it drives us nuts.  The ice dispenser in the refrigerator door quit working after about 6 months to a year, and the dishwasher was leaking out the front door (which I actually did discover was because it wasn't level - my fault - so I leveled it and that stopped being an issue)... however now, as many other people have experienced, the control panel is no longer working on the dishwasher.  All the biggest pieces of crap I have ever seen.  I plan to go to Home Depot where I bought these pieces of junk and see what they will do for me.  Considering I've spent about 20 grand at Home Depot over the 10 years I've lived in my home, hopefully they will be interested in keeping a good customer.   It's ridiculous.  It would be one thing is it was just one of the units, and the problem was fixed, and didn't return for at least many years, but come on... 3  for 3 on defective parts on appliances??  My parents had the same appliances for like 15 - 20 years without an issue.  Do we even need to discuss the tanks our grandparents had?  I bet there are appliances from the 40s and 50s that are still working to this day.

    My Maytag junk model MDB7749AWM1 has given me a lot of problems with the switches on the circuit ribbon. I have replaced them twice and now I having the same problem again. I am going to junk this dishwasher. I will not buy another MAYTAG product. They are junk.

    $600 2 year old Maytag w/upgraded stainless liner is junk when the control panel goes out like everyone elses.  Nice product.....NOT!!!  Quoted $200 to fix if just one bad board.  More if two.  What happened to the Maytag name???

    Bought a Maytag Washer for $820, lasted 10 days! The store we bought it from were not interest, phone Maytag 1-800 they said. Engineer said main board needs replacing which would be 1 week to get part. ( I have lost 4 hrs. pay waiting for engineer now.). With the help of social media we had a new washer from the store delivered free of charge, because they were getting bad reviews. I guess the truth hurts! I will never buy anything from that store or any Maytag product again! Absolute junk.

    My dishwasher is not that old, the control panel hasn't worked right for some time. Finally stopped working completely. repair man is ordering a new panel $250 later it's supposed to work... but for how long. I feel like Maytag does not stand behind their products, I used to think they were a superior product, I've changed my mind!!!
