I called into Maytag directly regarding my oven breaking and they set up an appointment to have it repaired 1 week later. They never mentioned it would be done by a 3rd party (A&E). When the technician arrived he took a look at the unit and then charged $129.00 for the diagnosis. I asked why I was not informed of this in advance and he simply said "I should've been."

I called Maytag and they said A&E should've called me to inform me or I should've called them and I told them I didnt even know A&E would be working on it. After paying, due to the fact that the technician wouldnt leave until I did so, I called A&E and they said it was my obligation to find out in advance. The lady was extremely rude and even said "nothing's free. You even have to pay for air and water nowadays." NEVER USE A&E!!!

I had same problem with my microwave.  I was charged $129 plus tax, totaling $138 to tell me it would be cheaper to buy a new microwave!  Thanks for nothing!  I guess the advice would be to stay away from Maytag as well as A & E Factory Service.  They both suck!

I can top that. My washer broke and was giving off a code, F35. The A and E tech called me on his way over. Told me he knew what the problem was and that it's very common (a pressure sensor) and I told him that's exactly what I had read on-line. He gets there, looks at the same code display, says, "It's the pressure sensor" and then tell me HE DOESN'T HAVE THE PART ON THE TRUCK!! I flipped. He came to my house already knowing what the problem was and he DIDN'T HAVE THE FLIPPING PART ON THE TRUCK?!  He told me I would still have to pay for the call and for another call to come fix it.  I refused to pay and now my husband thinks he can fix it.  I am writing letters to every consumer group I can think of and will not pay a single dime to them nor have them do any service on my appliances.

Don't use a & e factory service. Although they fixed my problem...they overcharged me---a $40 part was $90 and the labor for about 30 minutes was $138.  Find someone local and don't call unless you have warranty stuff.

I will never use this company again. The tech was polite....and he can't dictate cost.  So...it is a company thing.
