I received this message at 10:26 AM on Sat 5/19/2012 from 949-870-7643. It traces back to an Irvine, Newport Beach California number. Greater Los Angeles Metro Area. I'm in NC and havn't purchased anything at Wal-Mart in over two months. I decided to check the internet for info regarding the message because I suspected it was a scam. Glad I did. Don't know what the motive is, but I deleted the message.

To Sir Rightious,

Their goal is to have you click on the link which installs malware on your smartphone/phone which gives them access globally. I just received the text myself... Hackers can put whatever number or name to the messages they send out. So be careful because even if its someone you trust, if it sounds fishy, delete it. Nothing comes for free.

Myself, my husband, and my father all got this message on 5/19/12 @ 12:00pm. They all came from different numbers as well. Dont see how these people get away with this stuff and use such a big company name to do so!!!!

Got this text message on 5/19/2012, Dear Walmart shopper, your purchase last month won a $1000 gif card, click here to claim www.vCardPrize.com came in from 310-849-0950, I have not replied to this by phone, but, I gotta idea, that this too is probably a scam, but, how do you know whether it is or is not?
