Where do I start

I got this very large washer so I could wash quilts and blankets. They do fit.  But what I did not realize was how the low water and timer worked. Sometimes there are actual dry spots on the clothes after washing.  But the very worst thing is the timing mechanism . I just put in a load  and the timer said 1 hour and 9 minutes for the cycle. So upstairs I set my timer for 67 minutes , two minutes short of the washer time.  When my kitchen timer went off ....down I go to the basement. THERE ARE STILL 22 MINUTES LEFT ON THE WASHER. This happens over and over and over again. WHO THE HELL SET THIS THING UP? If I had a large family I would never get my washing done . I don't think it takes an engineer to figure this thing out ....REALLY DISGUSTED.
