I believe this to be a scam that would gave solicited a lot more info had I not hung up. They aren't even american

    Sorry, they called and said they were the us treasury and a charge had been filed against me. Then they asked if I had a criminal attorney

    Yes, it is a scam..
    They're trying to con and extort people by phone, threatening them enough that they'll get a prepaid debit card and give them the number.

    This scam is commonly run from overseas, often India.
    Any accents?
